Sustainability

Commitments in progress

Sustainability at SAMO is managed as an operating discipline rather than a slogan. The commitments below are built into the daily routine at the cage site and on the land, and measured outcomes will be published as our monitoring programme matures.

Care for the lake

Farming Lake Victoria under our aquaculture permit means treating the water as a shared resource: checking water quality daily, stocking cages with care and keeping the cage site clean.

Responsible feeding and inputs

Feeding on schedule and handling feed, medicines and other inputs with care, so nothing is wasted and nothing harmful reaches the water or the land.

Animal health and welfare

Clean housing, proper space and vaccination on schedule for our poultry and livestock, and careful handling of fish from stocking to harvest.

People and community

The farm is family-run and rooted where it stands. Our growth plan is built around dependable local employment and reliable markets for the community around Itumbuli.

Verified reporting

We publish only measured and verified outcomes. As monitoring matures, environmental and social indicators will be reported on this page.
